Began
hot air ballooning in 1978 flying in Nebraska and Colorado.
Past Board Member, Balloon Federation of America Gas Division (1991), and
work with other organizations to further the advancement of ballooning.
Participated in Steve Fossett’s Solo Spirit endeavors to
fly around the world. This
project included two flights from St. Louis and the southern hemisphere attempt
for Mendoza, Argentina. Working to
continue the Solo Spirit RTW project next spring (2001) in the southern
hemisphere.
Second
place finish in 1999 RE/Max Cup Event. 39th
longest flight in the world.

Place 2000 Gordon Bennett in Belgium.

elected to the BFA Gas Board, treasurer in 2000.

include management of marketing functions in 5 state trade territory.

Interests
include amateur radio, computers, webpage design, sports and flying. Enjoying
planning and implementing new projects that include both hot air and gas.
Long distant flights in both hot air and gas are of particular interest.
My philosophy is that many things can be done in ballooning without
spending money on elaborate equipment and taking common sense approach to
flying. Interested in the
advancement of knowledge in ballooning to others that show interest and willing
to learn.
